On Thursday afternoons, local skateboarders meet at the Robey Theater in Spencer for a Skate Park Committee Meeting.

This committee was created by Jon Rogers, owner of Backstage Video, along with President of the Skate Park Committee  Marshal Jarvis and vice-president Grayson Hall. The committee is now in the process of building a skate park behind Southern States in Spencer.

They meet with the mayor every couple of weeks to discuss the plans for the skate park. The Mayor has agreed to donate money for the skate park.

They also have hosted many fundraisers to earn the money necessary to build the skate park. They plan to build a variety of different ramps and jumps along with four eight-foot rails that Key Energy donated.
